Position Overview

As a Sales Engineer you will handle all technical aspects of the sales cycle by determining technical requirements, matching them to Juniper Networks solutions, and execute technical presales. You will explain complex topics to partners and customers in a clear and concise format with the goal of convincing them to buy, resell or recommend Juniper Networks solutions.


  • Help sales sell more and increase the company revenue by utilizing your technical sales skills to convince prospects to purchase Juniper Networks solutions
  • Query prospects to qualify sales opportunities in conjunction with sales team in order to accurately determine product fit, size and probability of success
  • Conduct product and company presentations and demos to channel partners and prospects, with the goal of getting them to buy, sell or recommend Juniper Networks solutions
  • Conduct in-depth needs analysis (via phone or email) with prospect technical staff to determine technical requirements and specifications of solution in line with Juniper Networks best practices
  • Collect and aggregate prospect feedback and help strategize campaigns and processes
  • Assist prospect technical staff in high-level design and architecture of prospect solutions based on appropriate sizing and resiliency guidelines
  • Address high volume of prospect questions and requirements in a quality driven, comprehensive manner to ensure prospect satisfaction – solutions will come from personal knowledge/experience, co-workers, knowledge systems
  • Assist inside, field and channel sales force in the close of sales by demonstrating technical fit of Juniper Networks solutions
  • Occasional internal product training for sales staff, Channel SE team, other organizational teams

  • Achieves assigned productivity and Sales quotas
  • Achieves product growth targets for the assigned geography, channel, sales team, or account base
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards
  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame

Organizational Alignment

  • Reports to the Program Director, Inside Sales, Juniper APAC
  • Works closely and collaboratively with the local sales and account teams

Desired Skills and Experience


  • Three/Four year college degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five years of sales or sales engineering experience in a business-to-business, large/strategic customer segment
  • A record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a comparable sales role
  • Product certification, engineering credential, or equivalent technical credential
  • PC proficiency

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

  • This position doesn’t involve travel, however might be required for training or conferences
  • All prospective employees must pass a background check
